Course description:
The course aims at providing students with basic skills in use and comprehension of statistical methods for linguistic analyses. The content includes rudimentary data collection and visualisation, basics of descriptive and inferential statistics and an overview of selected quantitative methods used in linguistics. The presented material is intended to prepare the participants for further independent study of quantitative techniques in linguistics, suited to their individual needs.
